Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance’s video model in three versions. The full 2.0 goes up to 4K; Fast and Mini work at 480p and 720p and cost less. All three make clips with sound and take image and video references.

Three versions of Seedance 2.0

Seedance 2.0 Fast — resolution 480p, 720p, the same three modes. Price: from 5 credits per second of video.
Seedance 2.0 Mini — resolution 480p, 720p, Create and Motion control modes, no editing of existing clips. Price: from 4 credits per second of video.

What all three can do

First and last frame: the clip starts and ends on your photos.
Up to 9 reference images: character, clothes, objects, style.
A 4–15 s video reference for motion, camera or rhythm, and an audio reference for a voice or music.
Sound in the clip with a switch: speech, effects, music.
Aspect ratios: 1:1, 3:4, 9:16, 4:3, 16:9, 21:9, 9:21 — from a tall 9:21 to a 21:9 cinema panorama.
Photos and videos with real faces are not accepted; for real people, the studio suggests Hailuo 3.

Motion control with Seedance 2.0

In the Motion control tab, upload a clip with the motion and a photo of the character — the model repeats the dance, gesture or stunt with your character. Mini is a low-cost way to test an idea; the full 2.0 is for the final clip at high resolution.

Seedance 2.0 vs 2.5

Seedance 2.5 runs longer — 4–30 s — but its resolution options are only 480p, 720p. Seedance 2.0 is limited to 4–15 s clips but gives 1080p and 4K. If the scene is short and quality matters, start with 2.0.

What video can I use as a reference?

A 4–15 s clip up to 100 MB. The model takes the motion, camera or rhythm from it.

Do I need to download or install Seedance 2.0?

No, there’s nothing to install: Seedance 2.0 runs in the video studio on the website, from a phone or a computer. You can download finished clips from your library.
