Make a cartoon with AI

A short cartoon comes together in three steps: draw the character, animate it on video and add the voices. AstraGPT has a studio for each step: images, video, voice and music.

How to start

  1. Draw the character in the image studio.
  2. Animate the scenes in the video studio, adding the character as the first frame or a reference.
  3. Voice the lines in the voice studio and make the music.
  4. Put the scenes together in a video editor.

Step 1. Draw the character

In the image studio, describe the character and the style: “a clay bear-cub baker in a tiny bakery,” “hand-drawn anime: a girl riding a bike under blooming cherry trees,” “watercolor: a fox in a snowy birch forest.” Make a few frames with the same character — you’ll need them as references for the video. You can draw drafts for free in GPT Image 2.5 on the daily allowance.

Step 2. Animate the scenes

In the video studio, add the character image as the first frame or as a reference image and describe the action. Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 take up to 9 reference images of the character and make the scene with sound; Kling 3.0 animates one or two frames. Work in short scenes — that way it’s easier to redo one that didn’t work.

Step 3. Add voices and music

Voice the characters’ lines in the voice studio with ready-made voices, or with your own voice in the Voice clone tab. Make a background song or tune in the music studio with Lyria 3. With video models that support sound, you can write short lines right in the prompt.

What a cartoon costs

Character images range from free GPT Image 2.5 pictures to Nano Banana Pro for credits. Video is paid per second — for example, Seedance 2.0 Mini costs from 4 credits per second of video. Voice is priced per 1,000 characters and a song per track. The price of each scene shows on the button before you start.

Tips

  • Repeat one style description in every prompt: “3D cartoon, soft light, bright colors.”
  • Put the finished scenes together in any video editor, such as the one built into your phone: AstraGPT has no video editing timeline.
  • Don’t use famous cartoon characters or logos: they’re protected by copyright.

FAQ

Can I make a cartoon for free?
Partly: you can draw the character in GPT Image 2.5 on the daily allowance. Video, voice and music cost credits.
How long will the cartoon be?
One scene in Seedance 2.5 lasts 4–30 s. A longer cartoon is put together from several scenes.
Can I turn my own photo into a cartoon?
Yes: first ask a model in the image studio to redraw the photo in a cartoon style, then animate the picture in the video studio.
Is there video editing?
No. Scenes are saved to your library one by one, and you can join them in any video editor.
Can I use famous cartoon characters?
No, other people’s characters are protected by copyright. Come up with your own character — AstraGPT places no restrictions on using it.
